Dimitra Androulaki, DipPsych, MBPsS, ICADC, ECP

She is a graduate of the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogic, Psychology (majoring in psychology), Aristotelion University of Thessalonica, Greece, and holds the Diploma in Psychology [DipPsych] (conversion for postgraduates) degree from the Open University, UK.

From 1994 to 1998 she had been trained in systemic psychotherapy and family therapy at the Laboratory for the Study of Human Relations (LSHR), Athens, Greece. She has also special training in: couples therapy, group dynamics, drug abuse counselling and treatment, management & social planning in addictions, motivational interviewing, and treatment & rehabilitation of individuals with mental illness or special needs.

She has worked for 18 years (1993-2011) with drug abusing adolescents and their families at the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals (KETHEA), Athens, Greece. In 1996 she has participated in the designing and implementation of the first special treatment program in Greece for adolescents who use/abuse drugs on an experimental/occasional basis and for their families. This program evolved to be the Early Intervention Network “KETHEA-PLEFSI”. From 2000 to 2011 she directed the network and along with the drug abuse services she developed services for problematic use of the internet and video games.

She served as clinical supervisor of psychotherapists at the Training Institute of KETHEA and has been involved in psychoeducation of parents on addiction & communication issues. She is a certified collaborator of Gordon Hellas to offer the Parent Effectiveness Training workshop in Greece. 

After her departure from KETHEA in July 2011, she works as psychotherapist, family therapist and alcohol/drug/internet addiction counsellor in private practice. She is an external collaborator of the Training & Research Institute for Systemic Psychotherapy “Λόγω Ψυχής”.

She holds the European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP), from the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP), and is an Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counsellor (ICADC) from the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC).

She is a member (MBPsS) of the British Psychological Society (BPS), the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), the Hellenic Association for Systemic Therapy (HELASYTH) and the Society of Professionals working in the Drug Abuse field (ITACA).

She writes children’s books and her first one “The man of the penthouse” has been published recently (2019) by Metaichmio Publications [in greek]

She is married and a mother of two daughters.
