The Center of Research & Education on Gender & Sexuality, San Francisco State University, USA   Our Mission is to produce and disseminate knowledge and resources that address the impact of gender on health and well-being, promote healthy sexuality, and reduce sexual and reproductive health disparities. We perform rigorous, innovative research with diverse populations, link findings to practice, and evaluate the impact of evidence-based interventions. We offer advanced educational opportunities for undergraduate- and graduate-level students and work to implement evidence-based curricula. We provide cutting-edge continuing education and professional development programs for educators, healthcare providers, and paraprofessionals. We link research to best practices and disseminate findings to policymakers to promote healthy sexuality.

Institute for Gender, Sexuality, & Feminist Studies, McGill University, Canada  IGSF came into being at the end of March 2009, as an academic unit in the Faculty of Arts. We aim to stimulate, support and disseminate research in gender, sexual diversity, and feminist studies. Our research activities focus on five axes, all interdisciplinary. IGSF is also the administrative site for McGill’s Sexual Diversity Studies Program and the Women’s Studies Program, and part of our mission is to train graduate students in these fields (through the Graduate Option in Gender and Women’s Studies). The Institute has a Director, three administrative staff, and two academic appointments. IGSF organizes a number of public events each academic year, including symposia, public lectures, workshops and a seminar series. We also host visiting scholars, support student organizations, and work with community groups.

Amsterdam Research Center for Gender & Sexuality, University of Amsterdam, Netherlands  The new interdisciplinary Amsterdam Research Centre for Gender and Sexuality (ARC-GS) in the context of the AISSR seeks to provide a forum for synergistic research and teaching at the University of Amsterdam, tapping into the state-of-the-art research that current staff member across disciplines are already engaging in, and generating new collaborations. It builds on the productive and innovative gender studies tradition of interdisciplinarity and is situated institutionally at the heart of the social sciences, primarily sociology, anthropology, political science, social geography, and science and technology studies.

Center for the Study of Sexual Culture, UCBerkeley, USA  The Center for the Study of Sexual Culture was founded in 2001 to foster a cross-disciplinary approach to the study of the institutions, practices, norms, and modes of representation that orchestrate and establish meanings for sexuality.The Center encourages research with two interlocking perspectives. The first perspective is one which examines the implication of sexuality in cultural formations of various kinds. These cultural formations might include, for example: legal and legislative practices; the production and consumption of literary genres; popular culture; visual culture; the history of the body; and psychological and sociological theory. The second research perspective examines the workings of specific sexual cultures, the precise ways in which sexuality is organized discursively and institutionally at given places and given times.

Brunel Gender & Sexuality Research Centre, Brunel University, UK  The Centre aims to encourage dialogue, exchange, and innovative research in the area of gender and sexuality, both within existing areas of study as well as across disciplines. The Centre is open to scholars and students as we aim to encourage research and the exchange of ideas at all academic levels.

Center for the Study of Gender & Sexuality, New York University, USA  We are one of the few centers in the U.S. with a named emphasis on both gender and sexuality.  CSGS facilitates a broad interdisciplinary investigation of gender and sexuality as keys to understanding human experience.CSGS organizes events throughout the academic year, including seminars, panel discussions, film screenings, and conferences. These events are all open to the public and provide a vital and lively meeting-place where scholars, students, artists, and activists can discuss issues involving gender and sexuality, and their intersections with other social phenomena such as race, religion, nation, class, ability/disability, and ethnicity. The Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health & Society, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia    The Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) is a centre for social research into sexuality, health, and the social dimensions of human relationships. It works collaboratively and in partnership with communities, community-based organisations, government and professionals in relevant fields to produce research that promotes positive change in policy, practice and people’s lives.

Εργαστήριο Σπουδών Φύλου @ Πάντειο Πανεπιστήμιο, Αθήνα, Ελλάδα    Το Εργαστήριο Σπουδών Φύλου αποτελεί ερευνητικό εργαστήριο του Τμήματος Κοινωνικής Πολιτικής του Παντείου Πανεπιστημίου, που ιδρύθηκε με το ΦΕΚ 926/17.7.2006 για να εξυπηρετήσει διδακτικές και ερευνητικές ανάγκες στα γνωστικά αντικείμενα του φύλου στην κοινωνική πολιτική και της ανάλυσης των πολιτικών για την ισότητα των φύλων σε διεθνές, ευρωπαϊκό, εθνικό και τοπικό επίπεδο. World Association for Sexual Health    The World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) promotes sexual health throughout the lifespan and through the world by developing, promoting and supporting sexology and sexual rights for all. WAS accomplishes this by advocacy actions, networking, facilitating the exchange of information, ideas and experiences and advancing scientifically based sexuality research, sexuality education and clinical sexology, with a trans-disciplinary approach.

World Association for Sexology   The World Association for Sexology was founded in 1978 and has worked to further the understanding and development of sexology throughout the world. With approximately 80 member organizations and numerous individual memberships, representing over 25 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America, Australia and New Zealand, the WAS brings individuals and organizations together to share scientific information, form networks, and promote international and intercultural exchange.

The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality   Founded in 1957 to encourage the rigorous systematic study of sexuality. More than 700 individuals hold membership in the Society. SSSS is a non-profit professional membership organization. A strength of the Society is the range of disciplines represented by its members, conference participants and journal authors. Membership of the Society includes anthropologists, biologists, educators, historians, nurses, physicians, psychologists, sociologists, theologians, therapists, and many other disciplines. The Society has a strong commitment to “the next generation” through the support of a vigorous student membership program and through the mentoring of young professionals who also serve as leaders in the organization. The Society’s award program recognizes professional excellence, public service and service to The Society. A broad range of committee activity provides numerous opportunities for the involvement of members in the work of the Society.

American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT)   The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) is a not-for-profit, interdisciplinary professional organization. In addition to sexuality educators, sexuality counselors and sex therapists, AASECT members include physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, allied health professionals, clergy members, lawyers, sociologists, marriage and family counselors and therapists, family planning specialists and researchers, as well as students in relevant professional disciplines. These individuals share an interest in promoting understanding of human sexuality and healthy sexual behavior.

American Board of Sexology   In 1986 a little acorn was planted by a group of clinical sexologists who believed that there was a better way to provide quality assurance to the public and to the discipline, in selecting qualified sex therapists, sex counselors, sex educators and recognizing authentic sex researchers. That acorn has now grown into a 1600 branch oak, The American Board of Sexology, and is made up of a higher percentage of doctoral level Diplomates than the other organizations can boast. This is due to the nature of the organization. ABS is dedicated to providing quality assurance to the consumer and certifying and nurturing clinicians in the practice of sex therapy and sex counseling.Our big oak now covers Diplomates in twenty-six countries. Approximately 98% hold doctoral degrees – including Ph.D.s, M.D.s, Ed.D.s, Psy.D.s and D.S.W.s as well as others. Perusal of The International Registry, our international directory of Diplomates, is like reading a who’s who in sexology around the world.

Canadian Federation for Sexual Health   The Canadian Federation for Sexual Health (CFSH, formerly Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada) is a voluntary, charitable organization, managed by an Executive Director who reports directly to a voluntary Board of Directors. Staff and volunteers work with the Executive Director to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights in Canada and abroad. CFSH is a pro-choice organization.

Canadian Sex Research Forum   Founded in 1974, The Canadian Sex Research Forum has as its focus, the encouragement and dissemination of information related to teaching, research and clinical activities of Canadian researchers and professionals involved in areas relevant to human sexuality.

The Foundation for the Scientific Study of Sexuality   The Foundation for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (FSSS) is a nonprofit organization devoted exclusively to supporting scientific research related to sexuality. It is the only foundation whose sole and primary mission is to provide funding for conducting scholarly, scientific research to further our understanding of all aspects of sexuality. Created in 1985 by the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS), the Foundation has as its goal to establish a perpetual pool of funds (an endowment) to facilitate the continuation of the scholarly activities of sexual science. FSSS is the fund raising arm of The Society.

International Academy of Sex Research   The International Academy of Sex Research is a scientific society whose objectives are the promotion of high standards of research and scholarship in the field of sexual behavior by fostering communication among scholars engaged in such research. IASR promotes the dissemination of research through its annual meeting and publication of the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior.

Society for Sex Therapy & Research    The Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR) is an international society founded in 1975. SSTAR is a community of professionals who have clinical and/or research interests in human sexual concerns. Its goals are to facilitate communication among clinicians who treat problems of sexual function, sexual identity, and reproductive life. SSTAR strives to provide a forum for exchange of ideas between those interested in research in human sexuality and those whose primary activities are patient care through annual meetings, fall clinical conferences, membership newsletters, and an e-mail list-serv for members.

Society for the Psychological Study of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Issues, APA division 44, USA   The Society for the Psychological Study of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues (SPSLGBTI) welcomes all those interested in psychological research, education and training, practice, and advocacy on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered issues and all lesbian women, gay men, bisexual women, bisexual men, transgendered people, and their allies.SPSLGBTI respects the diversity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people and recognizes that multiple dimensions of diversity including race, ethnicity, gender, ability, age, and class affect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered issues.We support and mentor students and others interested in lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered issues. We work collaboratively with others on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered concerns locally, nationally, and internationally.

World Professional Association for Transgender Health   The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), formerly known as the (Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association, HBIGDA), is a professional organization devoted to the understanding and treatment of gender identity disorders. WPATH Mission Statement.As an international multidisciplinary professional Association the mission of WPATH is to promote evidence based care, education, research, advocacy, public policy and respect in transgender health.

International Association for the Study of Sexuality, Culture & Society   IASSCS’ mission is to strengthen both research and the capacity to conduct research, on socio-cultural dimensions of sexuality, with special attention to promoting research equity in the global south. It is committed to a broad range of research activities, including strengthening communication and promoting collaboration among researchers, policy makers, and activists/advocates. This mission is informed by the principles of social justice and human rights, with a focus on sexual rights and gender equality, as expressed in documents such as the Cairo Programme of Action, CEDAW and the UNGASS Declaration on HIV/AIDS.

Nordic Association for Clinical Sexology   The Nordic Association for Clinical Sexology is an association between the Danish Association for Clinical Sexology, Estonian Academic Society of Sexology, the Finnish Association for Sexology, the Icelandic Sexology Association, the Norwegian Society for Clinical Sexology and the Swedish Association for Sexology. These organisations are legally and economically independent in their relationships to the Nordic Association for Clinical Sexology. The aim of the Association is to promote scientific exchange and practical collaboration in sexology and to create and promote sexological knowledge and information. 

Sexuality Information & Education Council of the United States   SIECUS-the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States- was founded in 1964 to provide education and information about sexuality and sexual and reproductive health.
